John Forsythe 1918-2010
Stage, television and film actor John Forsythe has died at the age of 92. According to his publicist Harlan Boll, the actor had been battling cancer since 2006 and died from complications of pneumonia in Santa Ynez, California on April 1, 2010.
Forsythe’s greatest fame arose from his role as Blake Carrington in the 1981-1989 primetime series “Dynasty” with co-stars Joan Collins and Linda Evans. He also starred in “Bachelor Father” from 1957-1962, and was the voice of Charlie on the hit show “Charlie’s Angels” from 1976-1981.
John’s first wife Julie Warren died in 1994. The couple had been married for 51 years. In 2002 he married businesswoman Nicole Carter, twenty-two years his junior. Forsythe is also survived by one son, two daughters, and six grandchildren.
