Tropical Storm Calvin has sparked watches on Hawaii’s Big Island as it churns closer to the archipelago.

Calvin is about 920 miles (1,481 kilometers) east of Hilo, Hawaii, moving west with top winds of 50 miles per hour, the US National Hurricane Center said in an advisory at 11 a.m. New York time. Tropical storm winds and rain could sweep the Big Island in the next two days.
