Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny writer on Harrison Fords return as Indy

Harrison Ford marked his return as the iconic Indiana Jones in the latest instalment of the adventure film series, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The film directed by James Mangold with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas onboard as executive producers, is now out on OTT. Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny
Opening up about why the casting works, co-writer Jez Butterworth said, “You’ve got the same actor who was playing this in his thirties playing it in his late seventies. I think that what had been perceived perhaps as a disadvantage was all the advantage.”

He added, “You had to absolutely run with the idea that what happens toward the end of people’s stories [can be just as fascinating] as what happens at the beginning of them. It started to feel authentic, and it gained a reality that was playable. If you embrace the opportunity, all sorts of storytelling doors open up.”

Harrison Ford returns in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, set in 1969. The movie follows the globetrotting archaeologist as he embarks on a thrilling quest for a rare artefact with his estranged goddaughter, Helena Shaw. The film is currently streaming on OTT.
